Where is everyone??

So in two weeks no one has posted their numbers except us, are we all getting tired of keeping up the blog with numbers or are we just too busy!?! I completely understand we have been busy as well. So here is another week come and gone.
Shauna 16.5
Justin his usual 25.8

Another week...

Justin ran 25.8 miles and I ran 13.8 miles. my knee feels much better now so hopefully I will start running more when Justin is done with school and home from traveling. Until then my numbers will be low. I did run a 7.5 miler this week and it went really well. I am really getting a love for running it is a huge stress reliever for me. I just don't get the chance to do it very often!!

Have a great week everyone!

Tammy Harris

Hi everyone! I ran 23 miles this week... I'm hoping that once school is out for the summer I will be able to concentrate a little more on running. Love the background! :) Hope your knee gets feeling better Shauna..

another week

Hi. I hope everyone has has a good week. We are excited that the weather seems to be nicer for this week. We both had a low miles week. Rob had 9 miles this week, but he came in 10th place at a 5K run/walk on Saturday! I had 14 miles this week, but I was the first female to finish the 5K on Saturday. I was able to cross-train a fair amount this week. It's really difficult for me to just run (I feel bored sometimes). We will hopefully be running more this week and be more prepared for Saturday! Take care.

Happy Spring!

Well Bruce and I ran the canyon again yesterday and it was beautiful around the lake! Bruce went 48 last week and Joan went 37. We need a new pair of shoes for the marathon--Striders her we come! Love the flowers! Hope your knee feels better Shauna--is it ITBand?? If so-- contact me-- I had that once for 3 months! Hope everyone had a great week. I head to Ohio next week so won't be running too much unless it's a contest for baskets!

Shauna and Justin

Justin ran 25.8 miles
I ran 13.6 miles. My numbers would have been higher but my knee has really been hurting so I didn't run on Saturday this week. Rob gave me a band for my knee that I am going to use this week hopefully that will help. Thanks again Rob!!

Tammy Harris

I ran 28 miles this week. And guess what? I took first in my age group for the half marathon!... not just because there were only two of us going for it ;) My goal is to work on my speed. I think I'm going to get a new running schedule and push myself a little harder. I agree, the weather was crazy yesterday but that's going to make the next run that much better. Have a good week everyone!

Waiting for a Real Spring

I would have a agree with Kelly about the AWFUL weather on Saturday! I was frozen most of the day and Rob who is never cold was freezing too. I hope it is warmer for the 30K. I've decided that I'm a fair weather runner. Rob ran 13.1 miles for the week. I had 24 miles plus I cross-trained for the week (spin class, Pilate, weight-lifting and elliptical).

It was cold!

Hi everyone!
Well we were both coming off of the race last week--our legs felt like jello. I probably screwed up because I ran 9 on thursday, 5 on friday thinking it would keep loose for Saturday with the half. I was supposed to have a 20 mile run on Saturday so I was hoping the 5 on friday and 13.1 on Saturday would be close enough! I do 22 next Saturday. So my week was roughly 27. I am going to take a yoga class-- I need help with my breathing--but with the wind in your face the last 4 of the half not sure that would help! My time was slower than last year but that was my own lazy fault I think.

Bruce took second in his age group and did pretty well coming off the 50 miler! It was very cold but I guess we can count our blessings we were not running in snow! Great to see most of you! Bruce did 25 miles last week.

Hope you feel better Kelly! Have you watched your movie of yourself yet???:)

RuNnInG NuMbErS....

Justin ran 31.5 miles this week. He ran 10 miles yesterday and felt really good. I ran 15 miles this week, I have bumped up my running to 5 miles each time and it actually feels really good to run a little further. My goal is to run further each week and since I only can get out about three times a week right now it helps if I run further each time. Good luck with all your running!!

Near Death Experience

Well, I reached my first real bump in my marathon training when I got sick this last week. Unfortunately, I also suffer from illness-induced asthma which meant that I pretty much stayed off my feet this last week (with the exception of some cross training), including missing my long run last Saturday. Today was my first real day out since my lungs were on the fritz and I attempted a 19 mile run (including the Strider's Half). As Rob and Christie can attest, it was windy and cold out. Was it just me, guys, or was it just, plain horrible out there? I was really struggling. I ended up walking the last mile. But I didn't throw up, which I think is a milestone in itself. I'll be back on track for next week, though, with a 9 miler planned for Monday morning.

That's all for now.

team name

24 Sore Soles for a team name. What do you think???

Checking In

Rob ran 4 miles this week. He has a good excuse though (dr.'s note)!

I had a lackluster running week. I only racked up 17 miles and did a fair amount of cross-training. I am hoping to feel better this week with my antibiotic. I want it to be warmer for the half marathon and NO SNOW!!!

Rob has no opinion for a team name and I am hoping to have a creative thought this week!

Tammy Harris

Hello! My total miles for last week is 22. I woke up sick yesterday morning and didn't get to my long run. My running schedule is a little off, but I'm still getting my miles in. :) Good job to everyone else on your running!

P.S. I'm still trying to come up with a team name idea! (Got running is cute, I like it!)

Justin & Shauna

Justin ran 6 times this week, 4.3 miles that is a grand total of.....25.8 miles.

Shauna ran 2 times this week, 4.3 miles and that is a whopping 8.6 miles.

We had a few colds and stomach sickness at our house this week so the runs were a little rougher than usual but all in all a normal running week for us!

....Oh yeah my idea for a team name is Got Running.....you know like got milk??? Okay maybe it's a little lame but that's all I could come up with!! Justin has decided since he picked last year he will not be submitting one this year!!

Buffalo Run

Hi there!
This is an update of our race yesterday! It was a beautiful day for a run! Bruce did the 50 miler and I did the 25k! That was my first trail race and I learned ALOT-
#1 Just because I love running fast downhill does NOT mean you can do that on a steep rocky path meant for mountain goats! I flew in the air (only once) and landed on my right thigh--it is sore but not bruised-surprisingly.
#2 Even when you are tired you have to pick your feet up or your toes will get stubbed
#3 This was great training for ragnar--Rob's hill will be easy!
#4I learned that if I ever want to evade the law--I will be well hidden on that mountain as long as I can out run the guys chasing me!

I finished in 3:18 and 9th out of 21 in my age group--so for my 1st one I was pretty happy with that! So with the other miles this week--I got a total of 31!

Bruce ran the 50 miler and it was a tough day. He was prepared for a marathon but not prepared for a fifty. He was surprised that a person could keep going even if they are exhausted, as long as they don't go too hard. He learned that because when he would start running after mile 35 he would get light headed and nauseus, and when he slowed down he was fine. But he finished in 11:58 and finishing that thing at all was a GREAT accomplishment! He said it was tougher than the OV 50 we ran last year. He did a total of 68 miles this week!

Happy running!
